"You can't pour from and empty glass"
Self care is not selfish and here are a few reasons why you shouldn't feel guilty:
Because....It's Not: End of story
It Helps You Define Your Purpose: How many times have you asked yourself what your purpose is? Self care is trusting yourself to go out in the wild without fear, your purpose is out there. Practicing self care and developing maximum trust between you and your inner self will definitely help you find your purpose.
It Gives Your Motivation: You ever been down and super unmotivated? Feeling overworked and overwhelmed? Take some time to take care of yourself and replenish your energy. Trust me, it will help you. Self care allows your to reconnect with your purpose and find that motivation you once lost.
I've spent the last 5 years believing that I cannot afford to slow down. I have to hustle and work and hustle some more in order to be successful. Do this for too long and you'll find yourself incredibly exhausted! It's time for things to change! I started an IG Live Series called Self Care Sundaze. The focus of Self Care Sun-Daze is to reinforce the importance of taking care of one's mental health. With everything that is going on with COVID-19, many cannot afford to pay for the necessary mental health resources that are out there- especially within the black and brown communities! Through virtual chats, yoga sessions and health/beauty classes, this series will be a free outlet for my followers to relax and release their stresses once a week.
This Sunday I had the pleasure of speaking with Boss Babe and Mompreneur- Lindsey Trammel, owner of Organized Chaos, about the importance of scheduling "ME" time. Self-care can be as simple as spending a few minutes each day doing......nothing. Check out my chat with Lindsay, here. Hope you guys enjoy it!
